The Flags & Arms of the Modern Era
The text and images are from Mayers Konversations-Lexicon, Fünfte Auflage, Sechster Band, Ethik bis Gaimersheim, Leipzig und Wien, Bibliographisches Institut, 1897. The tables are named Flaggen, Tafel I u. II in Farbendruck (mit textblad) and the text of the textblad is given, too. Many flags not pictured on images are described there (in German, of course).
All possible copyrights to the tables and the accompanying text remain with the original proprietor (if there are some who still hold them after 100 years).
The images and text are scanned by me. The text was particulary reluctant to be scanned, and OCR program had troubles recognizing it, allthought the text is not printed in German Fraktur (Blackletters) as the most of the Lexikon. I have tryed to correct all the errors that might have made by this, but no doubt there are some left over.
